Local Scholarships Eligibility Requirements

Local Scholarships...Read all about them and then apply by March 25th

The following scholarships are given by local organizations and/or businesses. Each donor
has their own committee that reads all applications sent to them and after careful
consideration they determine the recipient and winners will be recognized during the
awards night cermony on June 10th at 7:00 p.m. in the high school cafeteria.

EACH APPLICATION PACKET MUST BE STAPLED IN THIS ORDER

1. AMADOR COUNTY ARTIST ASSOCIATION SCHOLARSHIP
TO BE ELIGIBLE: Must be an art (visual art) major or related career

2. AMADOR COUNTY ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS SCHOLARSHIP
TO BE ELIGIBLE: Must attend a four-year college or university
Scholarship is based on scholastic aptitude, financial need, character
and citizenship, plus extra-curricular activities.

3. AMADOR LODGE NO. 65 F & M (competitive-between Amador and Argonaut)
TO BE ELIGIBLE: must be a member of Amador County Rainbow girls, Job's
Daugher, or Del Molay boys
(b) must attend university or four year college

4. AMADOR COUNTY GEM AND MINERAL (competitive-district wide)
TO BE ELIGIBLE: must be entering a two or four year college in the field of earth
science.
(b) must have a GPA 2.75 or above

5. AMADOR COUNTY OPTOMETRY BIOLOGICAL AND HEALTH SERVICES
SCHOLARSHIP (competitive-district wide)
TO BE ELIGIBLE: must demonstrate excellence in biological and health science
(b) Candidates will have a interview by donor committee

6. AMADOR COUNTY PEACE OFFICERS SCHOLARSHIP
TO BE ELIGIBLE: must be attending a two or four year college
(b) resident of Amador County for at least four years
� high GPA, good character and community involvement7 7. 7.AMADOR COUNTY SHERIFF'S ASSOCIATION
TO BE ELIGIBLE:a) must be majoring in a law enforcement field or similiar area
(b) average GPA, good character and community involvement
� financial need
(d) must be involved in the community

8. AMADOR COUNTY REPUBLICAN WOMEN FEDERATED SCHOLARSHIP
TO BE ELIGIBLE: Must write special essay, see Mr. Mike for details

9. AMADOR COUNTY UP-COUNTRY LIONS CLUB
TO BE ELIGIBLE: must be of average academic standing
(b) must live up-country
� financial need
(d) pursuing a career that takes less then two years of training

(students must be a resident of Pine Grove, Volcano, or Pioneer or live closer to these
communities on or near Ridge Road or Sutter Creek-Volcano Creek Road.)

10. AMADOR COUNTY UP-COUNTRY ROTARY CLUB
TO BE ELIGIBLE: must be of high academic standing
b) financial need
c) good leadership, citizenship, extra-curricular activities
d) Candidates will have a interview by donor committee

11. AMADOR COUNTY WOMEN'S NETWORK....
TO BE ELIGIBLE a) for women only
b) good character and motivation
c) financial need

12. AMERICAN LEGION AUXILIARY SCHOLARSHIP
TO BE ELIGIBLE: must be a graduating senior
b) attend a community only in Sacramento or San Joaquin Valley
c) family member must have served in the military
d) must attach a special form with application. ASK SANDI for it!

13. AMERICAN LEGION AMBULANCE SERVICE SCHOLARSHIP
TO BE ELIGIBLE: must be entering the public safety field. i.e. medical, fire, law
enforcement or related fields

14. ARGONAUT BREAKFAST LIONS CLUBS
TO BE ELIGIBLE:a. must be going into a vocational field( police science, computer
training, construction, truck driving school, cooking, drama,
medical/dental assistant training, cosmetologist) examples

15. BABE AND MARIE GARBARINI MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
TO BE ELIGIBLE: must be
(a) graduating senior
(b) average G.P.A.
� journalism or fine art major

16.CALIFORNIA SCHOOL EMPLOYEES ASSOCIATION(competitive-district wide)
TO BE ELIGIBLE: must have a family member working for the school district as
a secretary, bus driver, custodian or any other classified
position(Teachers are not classfied employees)
(b) must be pursuing a job that takes not more than two years of
training

17..CHARLES P. FRAKER MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
TO BE ELIGIBLE: must attend a college to become a police officer or
fireman

18. EUROPEAN AMERICAN CORRECTIONAL WORKERS ASSOCIATION
SCHOLARSHIP***good one for students that have parents that work at
a correctional facility (Mule Creek or Preston)
TO BE ELIGIBLE: Pick up their application in Career Center
(a) must be sponsored by someone working or belonging to the
European American Correctional Workers Association.

19.FOOTHILL GARDEN CLUB SCHOLARSHIP***Pick up their application in CC
TO BE ELIGIBLE: must live in Mt. Aukum, River Pines, Fiddletown,
Plymouth, Sutter Creek or DryTown!!!
(2) attend a two-year or four year college
(3) GPA 3.25
(4) good character and strong desire to achieve goals

20. IMMACULATE CONCEPTION MEN'S CLUB SCHOLARSHIP **Must attach an
essay stating future goals and ambitions and how the students' Christian values will
impact their school, community and future activities.

21. ITALIAN BENEVOLENT SOCIETY SCHOLARSHIP (Competitive-district wide)
TO BE ELIGIBLE: must be at least 1/4 Italian descent
(b) must pick up special form in Career Center

22. JACKSON LIONS CLUB SCHOLARSHIP
TO BE ELIGIBLE: financial need
b) good character, citizenship
c) extra-curricular activities
d) must be pursuing a job that takes no more than two years
of training
23. JAMES WELCH MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
TO BE ELIGIBLE: Must have average GPA
Scholarships will be based on good citizenship, character, leadership
abilities, extra-curricular activities and community involvement. Financial
Need is a big factor....So if you have won a scholarship already, please do not
apply to this one.

TO BE ELIGIBLE: must be a business major

TO BE ELIGIBLE: Must be pursuing a nursing career

similar field. GPA of 2.5 or better

TO BE ELIGIBLE: must be pursuing a career in a health related field

TO BE ELIGIBLE: must be pursuing a career in fire science, medical or
industrial arts

36. SUTTER CREEK LIONS CLUB SCHOLARSHIP
TO BE ELIGIBLE: must be of good character and citizenship

37. SUTTER CREEK WOMENS CLUB SCHOLARSHIP

38. VOLCANO PIONEER COMMUNITY THEATRE SCHOLARSHIP
TO BE ELIGIBLE: must be planning to attend a two or four year college
b) major in drama or any aspect of theatre arts, including
dance, voice, music, etc.
c) participated in drama performances at Amador High School

39. WEATHERBY REYNOLDS CONSULTING ENGINEER SCHOLARSHIP
TO BE ELIGIBLE: must be majoring in engineering or similar field
b) must be attending a two or four year college
c) GPA 3.5 or better

40. YOUNG LADIES INSTITUTE SCHOLARSHIP
TO BE ELIGIBLE: must be a female member of the Immaculate Conception
Parish and must write a special essay on how your Christian values will help you.

I. LETTERS OF RECOMMENDATION...You must submit at least two (2) letters of
recommendation. One of the letters must come from a faculty member and the other from a
community member. All letters must be from someone other than a relative.

2. TRANSCRIPT...A offical copy of your transcript must be attached to this application. You
may request a transcript from Mr. Mike by filling out the attached form.

3. ESSAY...you must submit a TYPED essay with this application. The essay must contain the
following information:

a. Educational goals and objectives
b. Reasons why financial help is requested
c. Special considerations/detailed of financial need
d. Include a short biographical sketch
e. Other scholarships/awards won
